The company Leo- nardo Yachts decided to introduce their new Ea- gle 54 in Mallorca. The young company is run by the brothers Steven and Melle Boersma. Our fa- mily has a long history of boat building, though the Eagle sailing boats have only been built since 2010 says Melle. Several boats have been sold and have been exported as far as Japan and Brazil. Leonardo Yachts is based in the Netherlands but nevertheless it was decided to launch this new model in Mallorca. Why Mallorca? Till so far we have been successful in getting peo- ple to come out to the Netherlands for a sea trial but we feel we can reach a wider public bringing our boats to Mallorca. For one yachting is big in Mallorca, secondly sailing conditions are per- fect. Our products are made for sunny conditions which are more likely inMallorca than within the Netherlands. In addition Mallorca is easy to fly to. And of course the bonus is that we ourselves hope to be able to spend more time here. The Eagle 54 The new Eagle 54 offers space enough for a cruise around the island with a small family. But interi- or space is not the most striking about the Eagle 54. It are the classic timeless lines that appeal to anyone. The endless teak deck in combination with the latest technology mean hardly any ro- pes can be seen and the boat can be sailed alone. The foam core laminate construction in combi- nation with carbon frames ensures the boat is light. Take in account the Eagle is designed fa- mous yacht architect Andre Hoek and you know this boat performs well.
